Mole removal

Moles are very common skin growths, found on both covered and exposed areas. They are almost always harmless but can occasionally turn into very dangerous malignant tumours, sometimes quickly. It is essential to have them checked by a dermatologist, who can assess and map them. In doubtful cases the lesions should be removed surgically and sent for histological examination, which identifies their type, any danger and whether removal is complete.

Removing moles with a laser is not advisable, because the laser vaporises them and they cannot be examined under the microscope. A plastic surgeon can remove these lesions in the best possible way, leaving the smallest possible scar.
